We are implementing MS Dynamics CRM 2011 online (via ADFS), and are planning to heavily rely on the CRM Outlook client/plugin/add-in (RU 12) but are having major problems with the operation of our plugin on certain machines, even after standardizing the Outlook plugin environment.
The current problem machine is a newly-imaged Win 7 machine running Outlook 2007 SP3 and IE 8 in our Toronto office. All proxy settings are configured the way a tested XP machine were which was working fine in this office. The plugin has been reinstalled, updated, the client configured for different user accounts, the credentials cleared and many other things tried. The CRM user account is authenticating fine in the web client and authenticated fine on a prior XP machine. Other CRM user accounts have also been tried on this machine, and a second machine with an identical image was also deployed and tested to no avail. Here is the behavior...
When I run the configuration wizard using "CRM Online" as the URL, the wizard recognizes the user's AD account and provides it for login. Once the password has been entered, the Org loads fine and you can complete the wizard.
When you start Outlook, the folder structure for the org loads, and the toolbard loads fine in Outlook, however when you try to click on one of the folders, it immediately says "CRM Disconnected" and provides the login link. When you click the link, it begins to authenticate, and even finds and loads the user's default view, however no data appears and any folder you click on thereafter says "CRM Disconnected" and when you click the login link, it does nothing. Outlook hangs and eventually crashes for the user.
We spent 5 hours with Support yesterday and are looking for some fresh eyes on this - any thoughts?
