Downloading a View from CRM with a script

I'm working on a script to pull a view from CRM and append it to a csv I have. I was wondering if anybody here has ever tried to do such a thing or something similar where you log onto a site, download a view from CRM and append it to a CSV.

I'm building my script with a combo of Python and VBA. I am fairly new to Microsoft Dynamics.
