Import data only into OPEN leads?

Hi guys,

I've tried to upload hundred of records (notes) to existing leads. But the process throw a list of errors saying that could not resolve the duplicated record. 

This happens when there is more than one lead (same e-mail); but only one is "Open/New", and the others are Qualified or Disqualified.

Is there a way to only import data into "Open/New" records?
