Set value into my lookup record

I want to write some java script for the purpose like below.

In my opportunity screens, I create a new field called “NEW PHONE NO”. When user create/update opportunity record, this new phone number from opportunity will update into the Potential customer phone number automatically. Screen capture :

Can somebody show me how to write this java script?
