Linking Old Contacts with New Campaigns

Quick question for all you CRM pros:

How can I link existing contacts to campaigns? The way our CRM functions, the campaign field is only available in the lead record. I don't see a way to link an existing contact to a new campaign.... Am I getting into the realm of Campaign Responses? We have not incorporated those yet.
