Automatically assign a Contact to an Account

Hi,

I have a Contact records that need to be assigned to their relevant Accounts & I need to do this automatically. I have an custom field on the Account entity called customer number. I also have a field on the contact record that has the same customer number field.

I just need to work out the workflow to link the 2. Or open to any other approach.
