Manager in User Record from AD?

Our organization does not utilize the Manager attribute in AD.  I'm curious whether any of the information under the Organization Information Section is intended to be populated by AD; or are those Dynamics fields?  I notice all the AD fields seem to be displayed with a lock icon, and this one is not.  

I also imagine these are all Dynamics since they appear to be what the hierarchy is built from.

Does this mean the Office 365 Portal does not pass thru a Manager attribute?
