CRM 2011 UR 18 and Office 2016

So, when you upgrade to Office 2016, the CRM configuration wizard will not laod form the start menu, it crashes there:

Has anyone found a way to resolve this? We've gotten confirmation nfrom MS that this is a supported configuration, but of course it seems to have some issues.
