We are currently running 2011 on premise and this setting is currently enabled - presumably defaulted that way after upgrading from 4.0
Later this year we will be going through the process of upgrading to 2013/2015 and then 2016. Running both the custom code validation tool for 2013 and legacy feature tool to find any blocking issues for an upgrade , neither have indicated any issues in our javascript in terms of using the old crmForm model. The legacy feature tool indicates a handful of issues due to the 2007 endpoints being used.
My question is does this mean it would be safe to uncheck the HTC setting for our 2011 environment as it appears it could provide some performance gain and perhaps did not need to be checked all along. I'm not sure if the above tools indicate that this is probably safe to do .
