Evaluate text field as numeric field with WF?

Hi guys,

We have a connector with a 3rd party company that sends us (push) information to our CRM. They send us the number of employees (any value) and we capture it with a TEXT field (numeric won't work). Our No. of Employees field is a picklist with a range of numbers.

I have a WF that checks if the value is "more than" and "less than" a range of numbers to see how to update our custom field. The problem is that it won't recognize correctly the value.

i.e. It takes that 800 is "more than" 1000 and things like that.

Any ideas to solve this problem please?
