Calling update message after creation message

Hi Guyz...... I have a small requirement.  I have a Plugin which has both create message and Update message. while Creating a record i am updating few fields. so as soon i update those fields automatically my update message from plugin should automatically called. I am able to update the fields in Create my update message is not getting called .can any one help me with this.
