Does "Disable" impact rollup like "Delete?"

If you Delete a child record associated with a rollup to the parent, the rollup field automatically reflects this activity.  Does it if you Disable a child record?  If not, what "state" is the record in on which I can interrogate?  I know it's Inactive, but it could be inactive for many other reasons.
