Question - How long does it take for a domain to become available if the Dynamics CRM account was requested to be deleted? After the account has been deleted by support it shows up as "(Deactivated)" but I cannot create a new instance of Dynamics CRM with that same domain name i.e. https://<mycompanyname>.dynamics.crm.com
Why am I doing this you ask? I setup a test account under my companies Partner benefits but unfortunately I did that under my personal Live ID and it is not associated with our O365 instance. Yes, I could wait and have it migrated to O365 in the next 4-8wks but as resellers we need to get our O365 instance of CRM up and running ASAP. The alternative workaround is to use a different domain/URL but that's not such a great idea as I strive to drive continuity in our domains/addresses for web based applications and platforms to minimize confusion to users. Yes, I have an IT background, URLs matter...sometimes.
