MS CRM 2016(On Premise) - "A currency is required if a value exists in a money field. Select a currency and try again."

Have a currency field on custom entity. However, On import it fails and throw the above error. Did try to set the default currency and select all records and edit, which does not work. Few blogs have suggested On Load functions (custom code). Any other workaround?
