Resize form footer fields - CRM 2011

All,

Is there any way to resize fields or remove the extra spacing between fields in the form footer?  I have a two column footer with the fields layed out in the following order:

Last Step:  Value                                       Last Date:    Value

Next Step:  Value                                      Next Date:    Value

I would like to remove the extra space between the fields so the output looks something like this:

Last Step:  Value                                       Last Date:    Value

Next Step:  Value                                      Next Date:    Value

I don't have any spacers in the form footer design and the fields are layed out on top of one another.  Any ideas?
