Restrict security roles from closing opportunity (without coding)

Hello all, 

I would like to know if there is any possibility to restrict users (based on security roles) from closing an opportunity using the OOB solution (without the need of coding)? 

Currently, I am using workflow to close the opportunity on trigger of a value in an OptionSet though it is not the best solution. Using workflows, I am not able to update the actual revenue fields as well.

Could someone recommend any alternate solutions to do this?
