I have a situation in which I have a custom entity in CRM 2011, and I use custom activities in a workflow for users to approve the data in the custom entity. The activities are owned by teams in adjoining (not child) business units.
Despite the fact that the activity is owned by a another business unit, the owner of the parent entity (but not anyone else in the owner's business unit) can still edit the activity. This kind of defeats the purpose of the approval activities. The activity record does not appear to be shared.
Is this normal behavior, and does anyone know a way around this?
