Universal Search Function in 2013 and Global Search in 2015

Does anyone know if Universal Search Function in 2013 and Global Search in 2015 are the same thing? Why does it not appear in my CRM tool bar? 

This video shows exactly where this global search function is suppose to be but it isn't there for me. Is this a customization field that I need to create or is it just hidden? 

I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!
