For workflow activities, is it possible to assign a user a lead based on a value from a lookup field?

Hello,

Im looking for suggestions or documentation that will lead me in the right direction. The scenario is we have a lead and based on the lookup field (a geography-region zone etc...) it will assign a user(make owner) to that lead.
