Connections

On my account form I am trying to display all connection from all contact related to the account that are connected to opportunities.

e.g.

Opportunity 1

Connection John Smith from ABC Consultants as role of Consultant

In the account of ABC Consultants I would like to display all the opportunities that their teams are connected to, so it should display Opportunity 1 in the list.

My issue is that if I use the the display related records only it does not display down stream records. Is there a easy workaround? or will I need to create a workflow that connects to both contact and accounts? if I do it this way I will not be displaying the existing data as it will be after the fact.
