Hi,
My company is currently in the planning stage for a rollout of Dynamics CRM, we have several outcomes that we would like to achieve:
Firstly; A new CRM for our sales department, to help manage leads, opportunities and of course generate sales. This will initially be an out of the box install with minor data import.
Secondly, and far more complex; Provide Dynamics CRM as a "cloud" product to our customers (we have several interested). With this in mind I have been trying to determine the best installation topology, from the planning documentation provided I have been looking at the "Multi-forest with client Internet access" as this appears to be the closest match to the scenario we have in mind...
However I can see many possible issues arising, such as clients already having their own AD and integration/federation being difficult to achieve for their unknown configurations. Also and please correct me if I am wrong, the CRM configuration in this scenario would be shared and hence difficult to meet all customer needs simultaneously?
Again with all this in mind I have been considering the simple "Two-server (team) topology", with multiple instances deployed within our infrastructure, this would address many of the issues of the "Multi-forest with client Internet access" but of course increases our "management" overhead...
Has anyone else had a similar scenario? Any ideas, help or experiences would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Bart
