Initial set-up for users from admin screen

I've worked with dynamics in the past as a power user but am now the administrator for a new in cloud system at a different company and am starting from scratch. When logged in as a user I can't seem to find any of the familiar buttons under the home tab, however via the admin centre I can access dynamics open the sales option and add a new account. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
