Move to SharePoint online

I am hoping to move our document management from our on premise SharePoint 2013 into our Office 365 account, it appears as though support for this list component has been removed from SharePoint online and server based authentication is now required. We are running CRM 2013 on premise and I am struggling to find if this is a supported configuration. Is this possible and can you point me in the direction of a good how to guide to get this up and running please?
