Our company was bought out by a new company. We have been able to bring over a copy of Dynamics CRM 2011 on-premise and have been working with it for some time successfully. We want to upgrade to a newer version (like 2016 on-premise).
The previous company had made some customizations to CRM since they had developers on staff. Our new company is very small and we do not have any on-staff developers. We simply want to see if we can export data from 2011 and import it into 2016. We have around 3,000 accounts in CRM currently.
I looked into going through the upgrade path of 2011>2013>...etc but I found that the customizations and possibly javascript the former company made would need to be addressed before upgrading. I am wondering if it would be easier to just keep the data without the extra customizations to keep things simple.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
