Performance issue in ADX portal event page

We have an on premise hosted ADX portal which have a poor performance in the event page. While investigation we found that the out-of-box function (SelectEventOccurrences) that is getting the events information is very slow. 

Is there any way we can boost this loading? Any alternate way to retrieve the event information?
