Can Products be linked to business units? for view security?

Hi

I have a situation where:

- all products can be sold by all salepeople

- but Mgrs are responsible for product groups (a selection product only).

So I can set-it up so all Salespeople can sell all products (but they only see thier own opportunities), but how do i lock down products so Mgrs only see Opportunities that contain thier products? (1 product per opportunity)

The products are non-inventory, so I can have a picklist of items.

I though a good way of doing it would be to link a Product to a Buiness Unit, but Business Units are only linked to Users/Teams, not products.

If I customised and added a Business Unti to a Product form would it automitically inherate the BU security role?
