One liner of what we need to solve:
We sell a product (for example TVs) that have a "Size" property. Our consultants advised us to use product properties to store information such as this.
We do not seem to be able to report on the product properties entity - there fore all we can tell is we sold X prudcts with name TV not X 40 inch X 30 inch ect.
My solution to this was add a new field to the quote product "Version" and we will just map this text across.
I have looked at the button, a workflow and relationship mapping and not found a solution.
The create order button: Cant figure out what this is actually running else i might be able to customise it
The workflow method: Cant seem to get to the other entity from the workflow gui (My order product wont let me select quote product as a source)

So could someone help me getting a value from a field on the quote product to the order product or
could someone help me figure out a way to report on "product properties"
