Deployment of Auto Number fields using solutions

Hi There,

Can we deploy the auto number field from Dev to Test instances. We wrapped couple of auto number fields in to a solution and deployed to another instance. However in the new instance the auto number functionality is not working. Just want to see if any of you experienced the same
