Unified Interface Editable Grid JavaScript OnRowSelect

Hi all,

I want to make fields readonly in the editable grid on the Unified Interface.
Is this possible with JavaScript with the OnRowSelect event? 
I have added this to the old interface and this works, but doesn't seem to work on the Unified Interface.
