We see some weird behavior with e-mails that are archived being deleted from CRM, and need to get in contact with someone who can help or can guide me in the right direction.
We have a client where the organization uses Enterprise Vault for mail archiving. This is an add-in to Outlook, combined with the EV's connectors into Exchange etc. The client also has the CRM add-in for Outlook. Some info on the setting: Dynamics CRM 2011 on-premise with UR10, no use of offline mode.
- We see (as expected) that if you delete a mail in Outlook, the mail stays put in CRM.
- We see (also as expected) that untracking a mail in Outlook, a dialog pops up asking if the mail should be deleted or not from CRM.
- When e-mails are automatically archived, they are deleted from the system, without prompt.
Naturally, on the outside of this, it looks to us like the add-ins are in conflict, and the archiving causes either the untracking behavior, or simply defaults to answering yes. I have confirmed with some colleagues that they see the same behavior in UR11 with the same add-in.
Questions:
- Is it possible to set the untracking delete default to'No delete'?
- Is there a known workaround or fix for the coexistence of the CRM + EV add-in?
