Cannot close window when window.close or self.close is called in a function. Popup window is called using Xrm.Navigation.openWebResource

Hi guys.

Have anyone tried closing the popup window called by Xrm.Navigation.openWebResource using a function attached to a button?

self.close works when not inside the function.

I tried it directly in the console pane. It works.

I am using Google Chrome browser.
CRM is in Unified Client Interface.
