Workflow trigger by date field

I have date field Est. Close  Date for opportunity.

How to send email to the owner 5 days before that date?

I tried couple of things, and I got Process Error 

"An automatic proces cannot be activated if no activation parameters have been specified.

Add activation parameters, and then activate."

what I shoul do?
