persist control's value after changing language on portal

Hi,

I want to know persist control's value if user changes languages on portal pages.

I have 3 languages on portals. There are some pages, where user perform data entry. If user enters data first in english and then thinks of changing it to french, the control looses its value. Is there a way i can retain values on controls?
