Prevent delete of Marketing List/Segment if there is at least one member

I know there is N to N relationship between Marketing List and Contact (or Account), but I am wondering if there are ways to prevent deletion of list if there is at least one member.  We have had incidents where user is attempting to remove a contact from a list and accidentally ends up deleting the entire list.
