Duplicate detection across different business units

Hi,

We would like to be able to set duplicate detection to work around across different business units.

Has anyone come across a way to do this? 

i.e. A user (with BU level security role) from business unit A tries to create an account that already exists in business unit B, 

Currently: no duplicate detection will work

Need: duplicate detection to pick this up.
