As part of a managed solution I have an option-set. This options set has been customised and new items added. Some of these new items while selectable on the opportunity form (a custom field), do not display when exporting to excel.

Clearly related to this, when selecting from the FilteredOpportunity view, the value field has a value (e.g. 100000003) but the label field is null.

To add to the confusion, this option-set has been modified in the past. The old modifications are fine, only the new ones are not displaying.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Hello Everyone,

We are getting below error message on production server for all our OData web service client side (JavaScript) calls.

0x800a03f6 - JavaScript runtime error: Invalid character

 

The error triggers at below line of code in call back method.

if (RetrieveReq.readyState == 4 /* Request complete */) {

var return = this.parent.JSON.parse(RetrieveReq.responseText).d;

}

 

However, the same code is working well on QA and development servers.

Did anybody face such problem?

We are testing IE10 with CRM 2011 Update Rollup 13 (on premise), mainly to get the spell checking feature. So far, using IE10 to hit CRM directly, the spell checking works. However, the spell checker does not work when using the Outlook client to hit CRM. Pulling up an Account directly in IE10 - spell checker works; pulling up the same Account through Outlook - no spell check even though the form is being shown through an IE window. I'm also seeing some style differences on the forms between the Account form pulled up directly in IE10 vs the Account form pulled up through Outlook, as though Outlook is running the IE10 pages in compatibility mode. Could that be what's removing the spell checking?

Has anyone seen the same problem and come up with a solution?

I need to find information that is stored in the notes section of the Fixed Assets General Information module.  How do I export the notes for the fixed assets so that I can find what I am looking for?

Hi all,

I've been struggling pretty much all day trying to get the Simple CRM connection to work with our development environment. It works perfectly on live, but there's something different on the development server and I'm not sure what.

The error I'm getting is:

The application terminated with an error.

SOAP security negotiation with 'dynamicsdev.domain.local/.../Discovery.svc& for target 'dynamicsdev.domain.local/.../Discovery.svc& failed. See inner exception for more details.

I've tried enabling NTLM authentication on IIS under windows authentication which seems to be the biggest cause of this type of issue but that's not worked.

When I run the sample code I get prompted to enter the following:

• Enter crm server name
• Is server configured for secure socket layer
• Enter domain\username
• Enter password

After this step I'm promoted with a windows dialogue box to enter the username and password again, not sure if that's linked to this problem?

After entering the password here I get the above error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In AX 2012 R2 CU1 I created a Document service with the AIF wizard on a custom query/table for synchronization with CRM 2011. Service creating completes without errors the new configured port for the service can be activated without errors too.

Attempting to add the service in the dynamics AX 2012 Adapter configuration I get the error below (“An Exception of type MetadataException has occurred while performing the operation”) after clicking the Refresh Services button 

Deactivating the service, the form populates well (but without the service listed)

I Created the service following the step from the blog below

We added an additional field to our profile sort fields, and that field is defaulting, with one specific group of our contacts, to one of the options in the dropdown box with out that option being chosen.  The contact does not need to be saved for the change to be made, just opened and closed.  anyone run into this?

What is with this? People have been complaining about for so long that all I can find are the complaints and no solution. Our employess are in the middle of typing notes after or durring a phone call with a customer and the dam thing logs them out. Log back in and they are are at their dashboard with no way to recover their notes. This is flat out data-loss and Microsoft is responsible for it. On top of that, all the other case windows they have open are gone too and now they've lost track of things they were working on.

I know there are ways around this with the hosted server, but that doesn't help with the online version. When will you fix this and stop costing us time and data?

Hey everyone! 

I'm starting to fiddle with creating users in CRM 2011, and I am just wondering if anyone has a sample c# or vb script they could post just so I could see how it's worked out. I'm working on building one right now, but I don't want to foul anything up with my ineptitude. 

Also I still haven't really worked out AD Permissions, taking a break from that problem and will pick it back up next week.

I'm trying to import a new mailing list (emails only) into the CRM - it's a database of about 19k - but some of these emails already exist in the CRM and so about 12k of the imports fail. How can I update the subscription preferences of this 12k that already exist in the CRM without manually ticking the box for each one?

Hi all,

I'm getting the following error when attempting to import a managed solution from our Dev to Live environment;

"The selected file is corrupted or it does not use the correct schema. Either select another file or modify the file to use the Microsoft Dynamics CRM migration template schema"

Details from the log file -

Status	ErrorCode	ErrorText
Failure	0x80048425	The Form XML does not conform to the required schema. A schema validation error has been detected at line 0, position 0. Details: Element 'control' cannot appear more than once if content model type is "all".

From what I can find this error means the input XML does not comply with the XML schema. Where could I look to find out what attributes are causing the problem and what can I do to resolve? I'm using CRM 2011 system based in the Microsoft 365 cloud.

Hi there, have had great success in the past using these forums.  Thank you.

I am using clickDimensions for my outbound email marketing.

I would like to start using the built in Email Router function for certain workflow messages.  *for starters:  a simple workflow that sends a user notification that a new Phone Call Activity has been scheduled.  

What is the simplest route to go about doing this?  

I had found this article   about configuring and setting up for 2011.  Is this the same process for CRM Online?

I had a question about some javascript setting a field to required when one option was chosen. I have a similar situation where I need to set the required of one field if Field A = 1 and Field B = 2.

Basically I thought it would be an "If" and "and" function but I'm not sure how to write that.

Hello,

I am using the Outlook add-in for CRM 2011.  I select the contacts that i need to send a mail merge to.  I select "mail merge" under the "Add" tab.  It opens a dialogue box in which i choose that i want to create a email merge from a blank document.  It opens a Word file.  I press ''OK" to the recepient confirmation.  I type my message.  I click "finish merge."  after this, it prompts me to write a subject.  i press ok.  

then it asks me if i want to create activities to CRM.  It is pivital that CRM activities be created when i finish the merge.  I click that i want activities to be automatically created.  I press ok.

everytime i attempt to do a batch with mail merge, only one customer gets the activities created in CRM successfully.  For all others, I get the following error message:

"an error occured promotion this imtem to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  The microsoft dynamics crm server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perform thsi action.  do you want to send the email?  if you click yes, the email will be sent out, but no corresponding activity will be created in Microsoft Dynamics CRM."

i have attempted this multiple times, with the same error.  I have even used the same batch and have deleted the customer that already had the activity created.  when i attempt again, one new customer gets the activity created in CRM, and the rest of the batch again gets the error message above.

does anyone know why im only getting to create one successful activity per batch?  what can be causing this?  what is the solution?

Hi all!

I'm working on a customization and for some reason when loading an updated view (Opportunity) I'm getting the following error:

Error Details: Principal user (Id=367b15c0-8fcf-e211-8c09-b4b52f662bc2, type=8) is missing prvReadmsdyn_PostConfig privilege (Id=0e3cbc47-6d79-4c02-8138-f76ab1df1d4d)&RequestUri=/main.aspx?etc=3&extraqs=?etc=3&pagemode=iframe&preloadcache=1370641997156&pagetype=entityrecord&user_lcid=1033

This is using CRM online, and I can't seem to find any good way to update the prvReadmsdyn_PostConfig privilege from within the UI.  Is this something that has to be set in the customization configs?

שלום, יש לי תופעה מאוד מוזרה בארגון: 2 משתמשים, עם אותו תפקיד אבטחה, רואים דברים שונים. האחד מצליח להיכנס לקריאות שירות וללינקים ולשני יש הודעה שאין מספיק הרשאות. כדי לתקן אני משנה את תפקיד האבטחה למשתמש ה"בעייתי" למנהל מערכת, נכנסת למקומות בהם היו הודעות שגיאה ולאחר מכן מחזירה אותו לתפקיד האבטחה הקודם ואז זה עובד. למה זה קורה?? איך ניתן לפתור זאת בצורה יותר טובה מאשר לעבור יוזר יוזר? תודה רבה!

Hi

I upgraded an organisation from cRM4.0 to CRM 2011. I then took an export of the default solution in order to use on another organisation without affecting anything in the organisation i just upgraded, However, when I try to import the default solution into a blank crm2011 organisation it fails on the contact entity with the reason:

Importing default solution - The entity with a name = 'RecordCountSnapshot' was not found in the MetadataCache

I had an initial issue with the Account entity where the display names where different so I corrected this in the destination organisation and that sorted that out, but the contact entity display names etc are fine. Does anybody know why I am getting that error or have a resolution?
