Dynamics CRM SSRS Reports not working

Hi

Need help with Report Server issue, we are facing difficulties while browsing SSRS reports  in Dynamics CRM. While debugging we found that reports even stopped working on Report server as  well. We are getting below error when we run the report on report server.

"An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)

Field not updating as part of Workflow

Good morning everyone!

We have a workflow that updates a lookup field on the Work order form, once a case is converted into a Work Order.  This field was being updated without any issues until last week.  No changes were made to the system, nor the workflow.

The issue is; the field no longer automatically updates the lookup field until after the form is changed.  When I convert a case into a Work Order, the lookup field is blank.  But when I change the form, the field updates itself.  It's almost like the form needs to refresh in order for the lookup field to be updated.

Any ideas?  I've pasted a screenshot of the Workflow below.  As I have said previously, the issue doesn't seem to be with the workflow itself, as it has been functioning properly until recently.

Error when importing DynamicsNAVIntegrationSolution.zip

Microsoft Dynamics 365

Version 1612 (8.2.1.341) (DB 8.2.1.341) online

0x8004803A

"The import has failed because component {92853f5b-24cc-e611-80fa-c4346bac3fa4} of type 20 is not declared in the solution file as a root component. To fix this, import again using the XML file that was generated when you exported the solution."

type 20 = securityrole

In the customizations.xml of DynamicsNAVIntegrationSolution.zip we have this:

<Role id="{92853F5B-24CC-E611-80FA-C4346BAC3FA4}" name="Dynamics NAV Product Availability User"><IsCustomizable>1</IsCustomizable><RolePrivileges><RolePrivilege name="prvReadnav_Connection" level="Global" /></RolePrivileges></Role>

The RootComponents-section of solution.xml looks like this:

<RootComponents><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="account" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="activitypointer" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="contact" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="contract" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="contractdetail" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="entitlement" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="incident" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="nav_accountstatistics" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="nav_connection" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="opportunity" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="opportunityproduct" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="product" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="quote" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="salesorder" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="salesorderdetail" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="service" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="systemuser" /><RootComponent type="1" schemaName="transactioncurrency" /><RootComponent type="20" id="{8c8d4f51-a72b-e511-80d9-3863bb349780}" /><RootComponent type="20" id="{6f960e32-a72b-e511-80d9-3863bb349780}" /><RootComponent type="29" id="{3c1f3ad5-3708-4968-b182-cc49c18fbe25}" /><RootComponent type="29" id="{69282ed8-813a-49a1-a726-b7900b5ab32c}" /><RootComponent type="61" schemaName="nav_NavConnect.js" /><RootComponent type="91" schemaName="NavODataPlugin, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" /><RootComponent type="92" id="{1ff6f3c9-b033-e611-80e6-5065f38a3bc1}" behavior="0" /><RootComponent type="92" id="{55228ac2-b033-e611-80e6-5065f38a3bc1}" behavior="0" /></RootComponents>

So the error message is not lying. There really is no root component for "{92853F5B-24CC-E611-80FA-C4346BAC3FA4}".

Is this a known issue? If yes, where can I get a fixed solution file?

For now I fixed solution.xml and manually added

<RootComponent type="20" id="{92853f5b-24cc-e611-80fa-c4346bac3fa4}" />

to the RootComponents-section, but of course I don't feel quite good about this fix...

MH

Dynamcis CRM Data Analysis - Advanced find use external field

$

Hi all,
In Dynamic CRM, advanced find will work only on the fields available in CRM, but lots of time CRM doesn't have all the data in it.  What I mean is there are times that some supply chain team or analytics team will take data from CRM and apply some external factors/formula's with external data and wants to upload some fields back in CRM based on that analysis. Again this analysis is usually in big volume of data. I know some time we can do Spreadsheet import-export with native template which is exactly what we can do as long as it has proper GUID assigned or we can create our own custom tools as long as the rules are specific. but the scenario, I am talking is highly dynamic and frequent...means there are no rules in place or source is not defined....lots of time business do ad-hoc analysis by their own.

Does any one know any tools/feature/software allow this?? from IT stand point, we can always do data update from behind the scene as long as its on-premise, but curious what if we needs to provide these capability to some Business Users??

Hi,

Looking for guidance on how to customise the system (CRM 2013) so that previous product or booking history is visible on a new booking entity. What is the best way to display this and in what type of field? Say it was the previous 3 products purchased.

Thanks

Service Activity Creation with App for Outlook

$

It appears that only Appointments, Tasks, and Phone Call activity types are enabled by default. I've discovered that custom activities that are enabled for mobile will also show up.

What about service activities??? These used to be able to be created in the traditional Outlook client app but are grayed out from modification in customizations so can't enable for mobile.

Is there any way to make the service activity type enabled for the App for Outlook????

Create XML file Dynamics 365

Hello everyone,

I am working on a project for a client. They want to have an xml file to be generated upon the change of a 'flag' for an entity's records, it should contain a snapshot of all the fields' values regardless of what changes. This file has to then be saved onto a server or a shared folder, ready to be retrieved from another plugin.

I am very new to CRM Development and I am hoping that you guys suggest what the best way to achieve this is.

I have experience with C# programming and a little bit of JavaScript. I have already tried to search on google or other forums without luck.

Hope this gives enough information, thank you.

Roll-up / Calculated fields in Portal

Is there anyway to force an update of roll-up or calculated fields within the Portal?  We have a workflow that forces a re-calculation on a roll-up field once a change has occurred but this isn't being reflected through to the portal.  The roll-up field within CRM is being updated correctly and contains the correct value.  Change Tracking has been enabled on the CRM Entity.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Opportunity Products and quote products

Hi,

I understand that opportunity products can be carried through to a quote, i need the reverse to happen, so if a quote gets revised and won then the products from that quote get put into the opportunity as the winning quote.

I understand that this is likely a plugin that requires development, which i've never done before (or much development at all for that matter) so any resources on getting started on that or if anyone knows of a plugin that already does that would be helpful.

Maps in CRM Dynamics 365

Can we have two sources of maps in CRM dynamics at the same time. One being iShare, one being Google maps. iShare being the companies GiS tool, but having less functionality in the CRM and Google potentially having more functionality. Some solutions have been built using iShare, so could other solutions use Google maps, or because we already have iShare set up, we can we only use this?

Thanks

How can I view the cases I placed in a queue as a case view instead of a queue view?

How can I view the cases I placed in a queue as a case view instead of a queue view?

Queue = Test Queue

I have added cases to a "Test Queue" but to see what cases are in that queue I need to go look at the queue. Is there a specific set of filtering criteria I can use to just have a case view that shows me all the cases in "Test Queue".

Thanks,

Mitch

Dynamics CRM to pull data from sql server

$

Hello

I have a requirement where i am supposed to pull data from a table stored on a sql server and put that data inside a entity on dynamics. this does not need to necessarily be real time. I can have it scheduled to do the data import maybe 5 times a day. I am looking for the best way to do this. so essentially we know the sql query we need to run, i want to run the query somehow and grab the resultant data from sql. Then map the data onto the entity. I know i can manually get the data as csv and use that to upload it using the mapping and data import features of dynamics crm. But i need this entire process to be automatic. I am trying to somehow use javascript to automatically grab the data, (essentially run the sql query twice a day) and upload the data to the entity. The tables and fields are always the same. The entity is a reference entity that other entities use to relate information to.

Thanks.

I am not able to approve mailbox in D365 online trial.I have chosen Server side Sync or Email Router for incoming and outgoing email, the server profile is Microsoft exchange online.

I tried to with my yahoo email id and password (through which I have signed in) and organization id also(like abc.xyz@onmicrosoft.com).

I  did try this even after ' test and enable mailbox' option  also but not worked.

Using Portal Functionality in Existing Website

I am new to Portal development, so go easy on me. I have built an entity form for the Contact Us part of our existing website. The plan is to embed that form in the webpage "Contact Us" so we can gather the data right from the user and into Dynamics CRM. I've tried using iframes, but it gives me a message stating that the creator doesn't allow iframes. Is this a setting or expected behavior for security reasons? What is the best practice for getting information like this into CRM using the Portals? If someone could at least point me in the direction of a blog or some documentation, I can follow that and work it out. I have been the Portal documentation on Microsoft, but I must be missing the part that discusses using the Portals this way.

CRM Outlook add-in causes reply to open behind message

When replying to email that has embedded web pages, the reply window is opened but immediately goes behind the message. When opening the message itself, it sometimes opens behind the main Outlook window as well.

When I removed CRM Outlook add-in, Outlook returns to normal behavior.

We use Outlook 2010 and Dynamics CRM 2016 (SP1) on-premises.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Terry
