Locking a part of a single contact

Hello folks!

I have several "generic xxx" contacts that we use when creating a new contact wouldn't be needed (someone only comes in one time for a simple visit and no follow-up will be expected).  Now, this happens a lot, and that is expected, but what I find is that sometimes staff goof and change the name from "Generic XXX" to "Clark Kent" and then I'm stuck with Clark Kent and his 10000 visits.  Of course then another staff member gets frustrated and creates a new "Generic xxx" and then I'm really having fits regarding merging the data.

Is there a way to lock just parts of a single contact, so staff can't goof and change things that I don't want to be edit-able?  Without removing their ability to create/edit the same area in other contacts?  And while allowing the partially locked contact to continue to be used to add new visits?  I'd like to lock the squircled yellow area.

form platforms to integrate into CRM

I was just wondering what people thought were the best form platforms that would allow my organisation to regularly build forms to put onto our website to capture data and integrate into CRM. We currently have Click Dimensions for email marketing but each form requires a workflow to move the data to the correct location and the forms are also not dynamic (i.e. fields change depending on previous responses).

It would be nice if the forms could save a position to come back to later (like form assembly)

Allow attachments to be submitted

did some data type checks, specify which fields should be completed etc

presented different questions based on responses

easy to integrate to CRM.

integration to a payment gateway could be useful for later projects.

We currently have a click dimensions, form assembly and red form but would like to rationalise to a single form solution. 

Any thoughts welcomed!

All, 

I am attempting to write/update a custom workflow activity written by Scott Durow located here: https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/SharePoint-Integration-c5f21604/view/SourceCode#content 

I have fixed the issue obtaining the auth URL. However, I am encountering an issue obtaining the WS-Trust security token via a SOAP message. Is there anything that needs to be done on the adfs endpoint to allow the server to pass out the token. The endpoint is enabled(I checked),  but does it need a certificate or any other IIS configuration? 

I get the error: "The remote server returned an error: (415) Cannot process the message because the content type 'application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8' was not the expected type 'application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8'.."

Any thoughts?

SSRS Report with Sub Report Formatting Question

Hi - I have an SSRS Report created for a custom entity (Demo), it contains a sub report that displays the results from another custom entity (Sample).  In the past, we have only had one Sample for each Demo and the report works great.  We now have several situations where we might have 3 or 4 Samples for one Demo.  When I print the report for these situations, the main report prints fine but the sub report shows all of the information together on one sub report.  I am a long time Crystal Report user and if I was doing this in Crystal, I would just recreate the sub report and group it by Sample Id so I get one report for each Sample but I am not sure how or where to do this in SSRS so that I would get my one demo report and 3 separate sample reports when printing out of the demo entity.  Can anyone help with this?  Is it even possible?  Please let me know if I can provide more information.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Disable hours/minutes from the Close Date of an Opportunity

I work for a global company with different sales offices around the globe.  I was requested to create a view that displayed the opportunities close in October 2017 (Oct 1st - 31st).  The view for me in Houston resulted in 30 opportunities.  When I shared this view with a colleague in Oslo, they only saw 29.  It turns out that one opportunity was closed on Oct 31st at 18:00 Central Time Zone (GMT -6).  My colleague has their time zone to Oslo (GMT +1).  Hence this opportunity for them was "closed" on Nov 1st @ 01:00.

Either than setting all users to have the same time zone, what can be done to make sure that a close (or created) date represents the time and location?

Hi Guys,

We need to edit a plugin developed by one of the developer who left the company and we dont have the source code for it. I am researching on it and found the below link:

I connected to our organization and opened "Assembly Recovery Tool", but the assembly we are looking for is not listed there, but I can see it in plugin registration tool. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

Call Report Form Enhancement

Hi- we currently use the Call Report form and am looking to give it a little more structure.  Right now, we have a single open text box that sales reps can compose their activity into.  We would like to give it more of a defined framework with specific categories to fill out (Objective, Summary, Actions) so reps aren't just writing into a free-form field.  Any thoughts on how to approach?  I'm guessing I'll need to create a text field for each category, but was curious to hear any alternate solutions.  Cheers!

Importing data using command line using DataMigrationUtility.exe

Hello,

I am using Configuration Migration tool to migrate data between CRM environments. This tool works great but so far all the migrations has been a manual effort. Is it possible to use command line/power shell to automatically migrate data. I can export the data manually but aleast the import needs to be automated. Is there a way to feed the org name, credentials, data.zip and trigger the import process?

Error syncing for the first time from Field Service Mobile app on Android

I get the following error (partial) when trying to connect. I am able to connect to it from Windows 10 field service mobile app without issues. Also, I am able to connect to another demo instance from Android app as well.

Appreciate any help/ideas. Thank you.

Synchronous WorkFlows Can not send email-CRM 365

Hello people,

Please your help, I have the following issue:

  • When a work flow is set "asynchronous", it sends emails with the User 1.
  • When a work flow is set "synchronous", it can not send emails with the User 1.

I guess,this happens because with the asynchronous workflow, it is actually executed by the CRM System Administrator, while with the synchronous it is executed by the user1 itselft.

I does not show any error in the "tab" where you can see the synchronous work flows.

Data Export Service not pulling Lookup fields display 'name' column in Azure SQL DB

I have noticed that Data Export Service is not pulling display 'name' text value of a lookup field in Azure SQL DB. Is this is an expected behavior?

Example:

accountId
7F399A97-38FC-E511-80CF-XXXXXXXXXX
accountId_entitytype
account
accountIdname
Need to retrieve Name using lookup ID and entitytypename.

Portals, Web Form, insert step keeps editing instead of creating new record

365 Portals question!

I'm looking to create a Web form which first displays a read only form of an existing record of entity A, followed by an insert step of Entity B (linked to record A through lookup), followed by insert step of Entity C (with lookup to record A as well)

It all works ok and populates lookups appropriately, the trouble in having is with sessions. Despite setting the 'Start new session on load' flag on the Web Form, it seems that whenever I start the Web form from the first step, it winds up editing existing records in step 2 and 3 instead of inserting new fresh records.

Is this possibly because my *first* step isn't insert that it's throwing off the logic? Any thoughts?

Hi All,

I created two servers. One for crm and another for sql server.

when i run sqlserver reporting services it got message 'There are no items in Home. Click Help for more information about this page.'

Please let me know what am i missing to get datasource and other folders.
