I have noticed some strange behaviour when Sharing Accounts between Business Units that appears to be a bug, but may in fact be an undocumented 'feature'. The use case is as follows;
An Account - e.g. 'Wholesale Liquor Inc' - is owned by an Administrative user in the top Organisation Business Unit. They have created a number of Appointments and Phone Calls against this Organisation.
They then Share this Account to a user (e.g. Joe Bloggs) in a lower Business Unit, who has Business-Unit only visibility of Activities and Accounts.
This user can now see the Account (as I would expect) and not the Activities (as I would expect - only the Account has been shared).
The issue arises when a new Activity is created against 'Wholesale Liquor Inc' by the Administrative user. This Activity is now visible (albeit read only) to the user 'Joe Bloggs'. All other Activities that existed prior to the Sharing of the Account are invisible to Joe Bloggs - only new Activities are visible.
Is this normal, expected behaviour - or a bug in the way Sharing and Ownership works?
Regards;
Bruce.
