Impact of mass deletion of contact

I need to delete about 11.000 contacts. I have the contacts in a spreadsheet and should be able to fetch the contacts using Advanced Find/Marketing Lists. Before deletion, I need to export all the contacts for backup along with ALL the fields and related data. When performing an Advanced Find and selecting all columns, CRM breaks down.

I am also concerned about what happens to related data when deleting a contact. The contact might have participated in an Event. Will these records be deleted as well?


So, what is the best way to mass delete contacts and related data? And how can I restore to the point before the deletion was performed?

Customized Email for Quote

Hello Everyone:

Trying to find out if it's possible to have an email Quote that has the Product the client has order. ie summary to the email-Merge for a Quote.

Please note I do not need the mail-merge quote I know how to do that.

Any info or help would be great.

Problem with bulk edit: Cannot massively tick a checkbox in the Contact entity

Hi all,

I am new in the community. I recently came across this rare problem. I can set the checkbox field to “unticked” but not to “ticked” though bulk edit. Bulk edit form shows a tick in the field but will not apply it under any circumstances I can think of. All you can do is to untick it! Any help would be appreciated.

Can't add Bundle Products to a created Bundle in CRM

Hi,

I modified the Product entity form for a particular CRM environment in 2015. However, I don't see a + sign to add Bundle Products to it.

However, in my trial environment, I'm easily able to do so.

Not sure what went wrong. I checked for both Draft bundle and Active Bundle.

PS: I'm not using Product Family.

Missing Custom Entity

I have a custom entity that appears OK in the Web app....but within Outlook it is not showing up.  Actually, it does show up as related information within the Accounts.  WHen you call up a record from the Navigation bar as a related item, it gives an error message with a URL in it.  If I copy the URL out to a vrowser, it will successfully open this custom entity record?  Is this possibly a Site Map problem?  It is happening on more then one workstation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is Dynamics CRM the right platform

I run a specialised construction company and have been working on building detailed processes for all of our business. We do currently use CRM for oppty management and customer. My goal is to build an application for admin, sales and service staff to use on multiple devices to run our business from where ever they are. A substantial part of the process is based on customer experience so in some respects CRM can work very well. However a lot of the process is based on supply chain management, inventory, time tracking and invoice then upload to QuickBooks for accounting purposes. I also need there to be specific workflows with the documents and detailed document management capabilities built into the app. I also want the app to look more like an app for the tasks and work flows than list and basic forms.

Now I'm not a developer but am willing to invest in this as know the benefits it will bring. So is Dynamics CRM capable of all these items or is it better to build a complete application from scratch. I know this a very difficult question to ask on a form but I've been researching this for awhile and have seen points on both options. Any suggestions would be great as I am a small business that is growing quickly and want to make sure I make the right decision.

Difficulties configuring CRM 2015 IFD

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there is someone who could possibly help me setting up the claims based authentication and IFD for my testing environment. the normal default deployment works great but if i start implementing claims based authentication i can't seem to get it working. it is a stand-alone VM hosted in windows Azure running server 2012 R2 (ADFS 3.0) SQLServer 2014. Everything i try seems to fail unfortunately.

Problems after deployment

Hi guys, we had to switch over to a new CRM server and after deployment, random users are getting the below error when doing random actions in CRM. Seems to me that the access to Web Resources has been lost in CRM - so the pop-up login window will show and ask for login about 30 times until it passes through all the logos loaded from Web Resources. Can somebody please advise what do I need to do to fix this?

Requirement:

We would like to open and pass input parameters to an HTML web-resource in CRM Modal Dialog box after user clicks on a custom ribbon button onthe entity Form.HTML web-resource will, in turn, call external URL using form “post” method. External URL will fetch data using input parameters and display the result in CRM Modal dialog box.

 

Problem Statement:

We are not able to pass input parameters to html web-resource from entity form.

Account trying to find a common field

Hello Everyone:

I'm trying to find a Common Field where I can use and it will populate thought out all the Entities. Note we don't want to make a new field if possible.

We want to use this field as a Look-up Field for 2-3 companies. Company A or Company B

Example A  good filed would be the Source Campaign field, but this field does not show up in the Accounts nor the Invoice.

Field info for Source Campaign

Name: campaigned    Schema Name: CampaignId  Display name: Source Campaign   Type Lookup

It might have at one time. (Can someone please check that for me Thanks)

If I do need to great a new field would I use the N:N relationship?

Any help would be great

ADFS 2.0 returns a blank page - CRM 2013 Deployment for IFD on Windows Server 2008 R2

 Issue: Browsing to https://localhost/adfs/ls/idpinitiatedsignon.aspx returns a blank page. Gets a redirect (HTTP 302) to the adfs service URL and an abort on the response

 Background Info:

  1. ADFS Service is running with the “Network Service” account
  2. ADFS Server has two interfaces, meaning two IP addresses, one for maintenance and one for production.  DNS entries use the Production IP
  3. Checked SPN entries for ADFS and looks good

 Please suggest if anyone have the similar experience.

Synchronization between Dynamics CRM and Azure Cloud Service

I have an custom application deployed to Windows Azure (cloud service) and a CRM 2013 instance running on premise. The idea is to sync data between the two applications.

A) When data is created/updated on CRM it should sync with the cloud application
B) When data is created on the cloud application it should be pushed to CRM (no updates done through the cloud app, only create)

Both sync operations should occur as close as possible to real time.

I appreciate any comments/suggestions

Trying to create ExecuteMultipleResponse in unit test but Responses is null

How can you retrieve data encryption key after system failure?

Hi,

Is anyone aware of a way to retrieve the data encryption key in Dynamics CRM 2013 after it has been cleared out due to a system failure? I am working with a client that has recently had a system failure and did not have their key recorded. Now they would like to reestablish their data encryption in their restored instance. Is there anyway to retrieve this information for them?

Additionally, if there is not a way to retrieve the previous key, could we just create a new key and reactivate data encryption and they can pick right up where they left off?
