I would like to default a 'DateField' to the 1st of January for the year when a record was created. Examples are shown below

DateField           Default to

[12/05/2014]     [01/01/2014]
[13/09/2010]     [01/01/2010]
[24/10/2013]     [01/01/2013]

I thought of having a Workflow that would be triggered when the record is created and then call a J-Script that would default the date to the 1st of the Year (i am not sure if its possible to call J-Scripts from WorkFlows).

Any ideas and advice would be appreciated because i don't know how achieve this ?

We developed a Solution in Dynamics CRM 2013 on-prem wherein we added custom fields to the Account entity. Now upon creating a new Solution under a new Publisher we find that upon adding the Account entity to the new solution the custom fields are also introduced to the new Solution. 

Is there no means available for adding fields to an Entity in a Solution without exposing those same fields to all other solutions containing that Entity?

How can I extend the time it takes to Timeout the CRM online website.  It seems like it takes only few minutes and it´s very irritating having to log-in again many times in a session.

I have created a custom workflow to send an email to the new owner of a lead once a lead is reassigned.  I am not the user that this workflow is being used by so I created the scope to be "User" and I assigned the Workflow to the user who this workflow should be triggered by.  The workflow still is only being triggered when I reassign a lead and not when the Owner of the workflow does.  Any ideas?

I have a situation for CRM 2013 online Spring '14 where we have users in Live and Sandbox however I would like to re-enable some disabled user in the sandbox in order to get them to log on to sandbox without the System Administrator security role.  These users have licenses and are enabled in Live and can happily work in Live, but I am missing the 'Enable' button on their user record to allow them to log on and do some testing.  They have security roles.  I have tried with both Administration Mode disabled and enabled.

Can anyone help?

How do you create checkbox set on a form?  I would like more than just two options.

Additionally, how do you create a radiobox set on a form?  Also, I would like to create more than just two options.

I would assume that both are similar in design, no?

We have a view called My Open Leads that shows each user their list of open leads that they own.  The issue is when the type in a lead name in the search field, the system searches all leads records as opposed to just the leads in the current view?  We are using the Outlook client.  Is there a way to modify this behavior?

Anyone seen an issue where using a mouse to select a different value in an option set doesn't take? You can select a value and then try to select a different value in the list and it won't take.  You can use the arrow on the keyboard and it works fine but not the mouse. I tried it using IE 11 and see this behavior.  Switched to Firefox and it works fine.

When I checked a fulfilled order, even if I am on the INFORMATION FORM, when I check the ORDERED PRODUCTS subgrid list, it says NO RECORDS FOUND.

I'm new to Dynamics CRM 2015, and was hoping for a point in the right direction.

My requirement is to obtain a value from an entity's text field that is of a specific format -- then parse and strip out the numbers, and set the value in a whole number field.

ex: Text field with value: I-2032-22. On record create, set another whole number field with value 203222. My research points me to creating a new custom action step, however, I'm wondering if there is a simpler method to accomplish this? Leveraging calculated field functionality would be ideal, but it doesn't seem to support converting data types. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

We just got our CRM Online tenant provisioned. Now I wanted to try out the Dynamics CRM App on my Surface RT. Unfortunately, I can't seem to login. We use ADFS to login our users. When I type in my username in the "Connecting to a service" page, I would expect to get a login prompt from our ADFS machine. In the App I receive an error though: Can't connect to the service.

I found the "Know issues for CRM for Tablets and Phones" page (www.microsoft.com/.../known-issues-for-crm-for-tablets-and-phones.aspx) and my error is there. But the solution speaks of CRM on-premises (configuring CRM for IFS). We use CRM Online.

Anyone who has an idea of what's the issue here? Thanks!

We have CRM and Sharepoint installed on the same server .The server has 16GB memory, but the memory keeps getting fully consumed by CRM Async services after every now and then, which disrupts the SharePoint services.
