Trouble Shooting: Industry Classification in Account

Hi,

I am currently updating the "Industry" field in account and have gone into the details and changed all the account names to what I want them to be. However, when I click save & close and go back to account to check if it worked, nothing changes. I also created a whole new industry field and added it in place, but the original industry dropdown is still there. Any guidance or help would be much appreciated.
